Your Time: The counselling relationship is a two sided relationship,
built on mutual trust. However, as the client, it is you and your thoughts
and feelings that will determine the direction therapy will take. You will
also decide the speed we travel at.
I'm sure you will be happy to know that I don't engage clients to let
them know how clever I am. Or to moan about the weather. The time you
may decide to contract with me is in every way your time. To do with
as you like.
I will be there for my clients at the appointed time for the duration of the
session as agreed beforehand. I hope that my clients will use their time
constructively and creatively. If they decide to do nothing, that's ok too.
I may however suggest to clients who don't appear to be benefiting
from the relationship that they may be able to form a more productive
relationship with a different therapist.
